Necessary Evils

The world is yoursAmerica is such a fickle place. Stupid consumers took out loans they could never hope to afford, with all kinds of complex conditions they didn't bother to read, and then they gripe about the economy. Banks and lenders sell the loans under false pretenses out of pure, unadulterated greed, cry about needing a bailout and then go right back to spending lavishly on their employees. But floating right under the surface of this is something profoundly optimistic: the promise of a new start.

The Rights Words At The Right Time

obamaThe old way of doing things in America is extinct.  This was a predictable outcome - George Bush and his supporters looted the country, boosting their own pockets but essentially dooming any Republican hopes of emerging victorious in the recent election.  From the perspective of a world conqueror, this is half-way respectable except for the fact that he was so sloppy he never even attempted to groom the public in his favor.  The choice of John McCain and his equally inept cronie Sarah Palin was a desperation move by the old guard to recover from his horribly careless techniques and to protect investments here and abroad.  Mr. Obama came out a victor, destroying Mr. McCain in the polls, giving him not just the presidency, but a cult status unlike any other politician this country (or the world for that matter) has ever seen.

It was a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity for the right person with the right ambitions - it was the first presidential race where the standard old school white male stood less of a chance to win than a woman and a black man.
